If you are a Wabash County REMC long distance customer through our carrier, TransWorldNetwork and you make calls outside of the continental United States, you need to be aware of the possibility that your calls may be placed to a non-geographic number. A non-geographic number, also called a virtual number, is a telephone number associated with a country, but not to any single geographic location within that country.
When someone dials a non-geographic number, the call is automatically transferred to the subscriber’s telephone set, wherever that set is located. The destination telephone set can be hard-wired (also called a landline) or wireless (cellular or satellite phone).
Due to additional costs associated with these types of calls, a $7.50 charge PER MINUTE will be assessed to calls made to a non-geographic number at the present time. This may affect calls to the following countries: Austria, Bahrain, France, Germany, India, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Please note: it is the responsibility of the customer, not Wabash County REMC or TransWorld Network, Corp. to be aware of the call destination. If these charges are incurred, full responsibility of charges lies with the consumer.
If you have additional questions regarding this matter, please call TWN at 1-888-704-7000.
